William H. Jones :: Euphonium

Meet William H. Jones:

Originally from Stormville, N.Y. William H. Jones is a 1994 graduate of John Jay High School in East Fishkill, NY. Jones received a bachelor of music in euphonium performance, cum laude, from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During his time in Pittsburgh, Jones recorded and toured extensively with the River City Brass Band playing section baritone horn. WQED Public Radio featured his senior recital on "Performance in Pittsburgh." Jones won the City Music Center at Duquesne Concerto Competition, earning him an opportunity to solo with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Recently, he has appeared as a soloist with the United States Military Academy Band at West Point, The Air Force Band of Flight at Wright Patterson Air Force Base Ohio and as tour soloist with The United States Air Force Band at Bolling Air Force Base, Washington D.C. He has also lectured at the University of Michigan, Northwestern University, The University of New Hampshire, and his alma mater Duquesne University. Currently, Technical Sergeant Jones is the principal solo euphoniumist with The United States Air Force Concert Band, Bolling Air Force Base, Washington, D.C. His former teachers include, retired Air Force Chief Master Sergeant Dr. Brian Bowman, Staff Sergeant Barry Morrison, Murray Crewe, and Roger Hanson.
